The term Warehouse Location Problem can be referred to discrete location problems, in which both the fixed location costs as well as the variable transport costs are included in the decision-making for a location.
There exist a set of potential locations, whose fixed costs are known. For the destinations the demands are given. Furthermore, the variable transport costs between the potential locations and the demanding locations are also considered. From the set of potential locations those locations are to be found that satisfy the demand of the destinations and moreover minimize the sum of the fixed costs of the location as well as the variable transport costs.
